7am breakfast onboard the Milford Mariner, then a cruise out to the neck of the Fjord to the Tasman Sea. Now we see the other side of the coin - it's chucking it down. En route we saw another penguin and a load of seals. The swell as we got towards the sea was quite high and a lot of fun. By 9.00 am we were back and by 9.30 on the bus for the return trip to Queenstown. Still the rain came down - hard. The coach was warm and comfy and we were all settled in when were were told that a short walk was necessary to visit a waterfall and as it was under trees we wouldn't get to wet. First thing was to cross a bridge like the I'm a Celebrity bridge, no Ant and Dec on the other side, but tricky to walk over with other folk. The walk was beautiful, only about 15mins but through ferns and mosses and trees to a thunderous waterfall.
Great stuff. After a few more miles on the bus the rain stopped and by the time we got back to Queenstown it was blue skies and hot again.
We left our cycling buddies at the hotel and Pete and I went up a sky ride to view the lake. It was very steep but stunning views from the top, especially with the lake looking so blue.
Moving on to Wanaka tomorrow- days are running out unfortunately.
