We were still in cairns until our flight which was departing at 13.40 therefore we had some time to kill. We decided to go to cairns city centre to have a look around and buy a couple of things before we left for Melbourne as it was quite a nice sunny day, I said to Charlene "why do this always happen to us!?" seeing that when we arrived in Sydney we were told that the weather in Sydney was sunny and clear the few days before we arrived! So once we arrived in Cairns it was sunny but guess what happens? Next day was cloudy with some rain and it was like that for couple of days until our last day in Cairns, the sun decides to come out! So Ironic :-) Charlene was saying how sore her leg was after she grazed it on the coral rocks whilist we were snorkelling at the great barrier reef , i have to admit it actually looked sore so i told her to put some antipestic cream on to kill off germs. I saw a ice cream shop called cold rock which looked really cool so I bought a vanilla strawberry milkshake as I didn't fancy an ice cream so early at 10.30! We went back to the souvenir store we saw earlier in the week as it was great with different choices of stuff to buy. I saw a car sign sticker with the slogan saying "I love Australia" I liked it so much I bought it ready for my foreseeable future car! :-) Ashley bought a towel with Australia map and pictures on it which I thought was nice as it suits him a lot. We realised the time was quick as it was nearly 12 noon so we rushed back to the hostel and prepared things ready in order for Melbourne, we waited in the reception area, the free shuttle wasn't scheduled until 12.45 and seeing as how well organised I am, having packed my backpack the night before so I went on Internet and browsed until it was time to go. We checked in the airport and after a few hours being in the air we finally arrived Melbourne! We got our bags and went to a information centre for them to call the base backpackers hostel to pick us up as we wanted to take advantage of free transport! :-P our shuttle bus was waiting for us in the parking zone 3 so we went to parking zone 3 and discovered that we all had to wait for few others resulting in us waiting for a hour although we passed the time by talking some random stuff! We finally departed the airport to St. Kilda where our hostel was, the journey took around a half hour to 45 minutes which I thought was not too bad seeing that Melbourne is really big as it was the capital city of Australia years before. Our hostel was good, it had spacious kitchen, a bar and there was more computers around with our 8 bed dorm much bigger with en-suite bathroom! We were hungry so we decided to try to find somewhere to eat and explore St Kilda area, to our delight we saw nandos so we went straight there and I ordered lemon and herb chicken wrap which was perfect!
