Huge hello from Zanzibar!
So we left Arusha and headed to Dar Es Salam where we spent one night at quite a cute campsite before heading across to Stonestown on the ferry. The journey was long so all of us were excited to hit the beach and have some cocktails!
Stonestown was weird but cool! Actually felt like we were in Morocco, lots of small alleys and quite easy to get lost but it was really nice and we found some good bars. Finally got a glass of wine and watched the sunset before heading off to the food market to buy really yummy pizzas!
The following day we headed to the coast which is where I am now! The beaches are gorgeous-huge with amazing white sand. We spent the afternoon in the ocean which is crystal clear-had a lovely wash haha.
Last night it was Alley's birthday (our tour leader) so we all took advantage of happy hour, ended up trollied, think I did the limbo, tried to walk into the toilets but hit the wall, went to the beach for a dip, drank way to much cider through the funnel and got escorted back to the room by Vicki who apparently had to undress me and then I passed out. I think.
Woke up today in just my underwear (poor Vicky!!)-huge hangover, but had booked to go snorkeling. The speedboat was tough!! nearly chucked in the sea but managed not to haha!! The snorkelling was amazing saw lots of nemos and dorys :-) a few sea snake things-freaked me out!! but also we were lucky enough to come across wild dolphins and swim with them so it was a really amazing experience. Pleased I didn't let my hangover get in the way!! Might lay off alcohol tonight (might!!)
I have tried to upload photos today but was unsuccessful! maybe next time!
Another day topping up my tan tomorrow and then its back to the mainland and onwards to Malawi (I think!)
