After a few days travelling from Dar Es Salam we finally arrived at Lake Malawi. We spent one night at a campsite called Chitimba. We arrived late afternoon and pitched our tents before heading to the bar for a few cheeky beers! All was well until the heavens opened and a huge storm hit. The rain was really heavy and our bloody tent flooded, I was cold, wet and had to sleep on the truck!! not impressed but quite funny now I look back-was not funny at the time!!

We was up early the next day and fortunately the sun was shining so I was happy and dry again! We travelled for another 5 hours before arriving at Kande Beach which is really nice. After our tent experience we all decided to upgrade and we got a cute little chalet on the beach! Home sweet home for 3nights!!

The next morning we headed out to the local village and met all the children who were really really cute. We went to their school and then to the local medical centre. A lady had just given birth to a baby girl who was only 3hours old-really tiny and cute!! The children are amazing, really pleased to see you and all want to hold your hands, jump on your back, have their photos taken etc etc...Loved it!!

After the village we returned and swam out to an island in the middle of the lake, the lake is massive and it took us about 45minutes each way to swim their. The water was really nice though and I don't think there was any hippos or crocs!! I'm alive still so that's the main thing!! really needed the exercise! The island was nice and we jumped off a few rocks which entertained us for a while before swimming back!!

In the evening we had a bad taste party-my dress was hot!! loved it haha. Drank far too much $1 vodka, funnelled way too much savannah dry cider, got way too drunk and played a few drinking games!! Danced on the bar, put chewing gum down some guys bottom (lol they dared me it was not my idea-it was the tour leaders idea had to do as I was told!!) and went for a swim in the lake at 1am before I returned to the room in soaking wet underwear and woke up with a stinking hangover!!! That's me now actually-sat writing this absolutely hanging!!

Local meal out in the village tonight all good stuff, then it's up early and onwards to the capital for a night...
