Just quickly writing this blog-seem to have lost it :-/ maybe i was drunk!
Arrived in Rwanda after a very lng wait in Nairobi and a dodgy Kenya Airways flight via Bujumbura (didn't have a clue where this was!)
We stayed overnight in a dodgy Guest House (I had tigger bedding LOL) then met our group and our big yellow truck the next day.
We stayed the next 3 nights in dorm rooms which were fine.
So Rwanda...we was up at 5am to start our long day Gorilla trekking. We trekked 3 or so hours up a mountain in thick squidgy mud and through thistles and nettles (Mum thank you for cleaning my shoes but really, you shouldn't have bothered, they are rotting in the truck somewhere haha) The trek was tough and a few people suffered from altitude sickness (me? no I just felt pissed up and found everything hilarious-had a serious case of the giggles!!)
The best feeling was reaching the gorillas, we left our backpacks behind and went nearer to them. We were so lucky, we saw Silverbacks, mothers and babies. The experience is truely amazing! Can't describe it enough on here! We spent about an hour with them, as they played amongst the trees- we were so close to them. Managed to get some pretty awesome photos.
Best experience, the trek is tough but totally worth it :-)
The next evening was Dianes birthday so it was fancy dress party-something starting with D so I went as a dork! The funnel was out and the beer was flowing. All in all it was a top night!!
Next stop Tanzania...
