After leaving Cordoba we drove onwards and upwards to Estancia Los Potreros, our home for the next 3nights :-) the place was gorgeous!!
We were met by Kevin, the owner who was Argentinian, and his wife Lou who was English. Very lovely couple and well there home was amazing with acres and acres of land!
We settled into our rooms before meeting Kevin for wine tasting by a lovely log fire...warmth!! Best wine tasting yet, he was very generous and well I think I had about 8/9 full glasses as well as lots of yummy cheese!! Nom!! In fact he was a really cool guy and very interesting!
After wine tasting my group had to cook dinner, so we headed to the kitchen armed with more bottles of wine, courtesy of Kevin and well I don't really remember much after that!! apparently the food was good though! Then I think we headed to the games room and drank more wine before passing out in bed!
The next morning was fresh, kind of needed it to clear my head! We met at 10:30 to go horse riding and took a ride to the waterfall.I loved my horse! She was called Linda (amused me but apparently it means beautiful?!) she was a horse with attitude and loved to be at the front, she also looked a bit like a donkey! The ride was awesome, they have so much land, and the scenery was really nice! Although it was pretty freezing!! Kevin's wife also joined us for the ride, as well as two local Argentinian men who worked and looked after the horses, they were really lovely!
After a few hours riding we headed back to the house for hot chocolate and an afternoon nap! We were all knackered and still slightly hungover!
Once we were all refreshed Vicky's group cooked us fajitas for dinner and we headed up to the games room and sat by the fire.
Kevin joined us and brought us more wine and also had arranged for a local singer to come, which was really cool, so we had a great feed, more wine and even better entertainment!
The following day was a full day riding, we headed to the highest point also known as the top of the world, the views were stunning and well I loved the ride! Lou also took three of us who had rode before for a canter which was fun :-) linda blooming loved it hehe she was so fast!
We arrived back at the house about 3pm and Kevin had arranged for us all to learn how to do some lassoing! How cools that! On real calfs as well! I was quite scared and felt a bit bad for the cows but I have to admit, it was good fun! I wasn't exactly good at it and Kevin found it amusing that I nearly (accidently) lassoed a member of his staff rather than the calf and he also laughed at me because I said 'sorry' to the calfs everytime they went passed :-/ hehe! Just felt bad!
So after an awesome day we showered and met again at 18:30 for more wine an empanadas (Kevin was so good to us!) and then at 19:00 we sat beside a campfire and had the most amazing Argentinian BBQ, steaks (like different cuts) and ribs it was so yummy! I drank more wine and Kevin gave out some awards, I got a bottle of champagne for best horse rider and vic got one for her lassoing! Be warned shes lethal! Poor calf nearly died hehe! It was an awesome end to an awesome stay :-)
Next stop is Tafi del Valle for one night on route to Cafayate (home to loads of vineyards!! I love Argentina!)
