Howdy :-)
So we left our hostel in Buenos Aires and headed to the bus station for our overnight journey to Mendoza.
We arrived and struggled to find which platform we were leaving from as everything was in Spanish, there was a board but no sign of our coach company! So I had to ask a random Spanish couple in hope that they would get the idea that we needed help! They spoke no English and my Spanish was crap!! Lol they were nice though and found somebody to help us!
Once we boarded the bus we got settled into our seats at the top and right at the front :-) the seats were huge, leather and flattened all the way into a bed! We also had pillows and blankets! Very nice!
The young guy working on the bus announced something in Spanish then came round with bingo slips haha, Spanish bingo took a lot of concentration but we can now count 1-10! Progress!
Shortly afterwards we were served a huge snack basket followed by roast chicken, gravy and veg along with wine or soft drinks. This was a pretty cool bus!
After dinner I had just got settled and flattened my seat when the guy came round with champagne! Well I didn't want to be rude so I put my chair back up and sat back and enjoyed my bubbles :-) that about did me, so afterwards I slept for a very long time! The 12hours went really quick, I woke up at 7:30 had breakfast then we arrived into Mendoza about 8:30!
We got a taxi to our hostel, which is nice! Again we seemed to have got a dorm to ourselves and it's en-suite :-) lovely! We also found out at check in,that they give us free breakfast, a free BBQ tonight (I'll love that after a full afternoon of wine tasting!) a pub crawl if I can still stand and then free drinks tomorrow...this is my kind of hostel!!
Anyway time for wine tasting...
So the wine tasting was fun as always, Vicky hates wine so I have double the amount! We also visited an olive oil making place-different! But kind of interesting I guess! And we also visited a chocolate and liquor family run business which was cool-home made absinthe! I didn't try it!
The next day was our mountain tour which was long, we was up at half six and not back until 7pm and it was so cold!! I know I'm a wimp but really when all you have is toms on your feet and hoody it's not fun! Fortunately half way through the day we found a small market and I bought my super cool bobble hat (as modelled in the photo lol) and an even cooler knitted jumper that is multi coloured, stripy and has llamas on hehe) I actually love it but not sure I could wear it back home!!
Once I was warm (ish) I started to enjoy the day a bit better! The mountain views were stunning!
Our next stop is Cordoba, not sure what's there but it's our stop over to the Iguazu falls so I'm excited :-)
