Our last day in Brazil! We had a really lazy morning, after breakfast I went to the gym then we packed up the rucksacks! It was the start of the World Cup in Russia so we watched the opening ceremony & the first game between Russia v Saudi Arabia. We checked out of the room then sat in the bar for a late lunch it was really surreal that the big trip was coming to an end but first we were flying back to Europe! We got to the airport pretty early & organised (or so we thought) having spoken to my sister the previous evening she had said “don’t let your guard down” obviously knowing us too well! We had a traumatic few hours at the airport with extortionate luggage charges, arguments with Brazilian security & not to mention misplacing our passports & camera bag! We made the plane luckily with just a small matter of an 8 hour flight with a 4 hour time change to get through!!
