An early morning start for me at the gym, enjoying getting back into it which I didn’t think I would. I’ve tried to go for a run or to the gym whenever I could and to be honest I’ve done pretty well! We had breakfast then a few hours by the pool, there were quite a lot of mosquitoes around so we both kept getting bites appearing from nowhere & really swelling up! We got a taxi to Praia do Barra which was the beach area just on the harbour of Salvador, the weather was quite hot but with huge passing clouds so we had a few cold beers in the sunshine which were really cheap then walked along the front to the lighthouse. The area was policed again but the beach was packed with locals having picnics & playing in the sea! We sat on the edge of the beach next to the fort watching the locals, two small children kept approaching us selling sweets, they were only small & didn’t speak English but kept smiling & coming back to us! We gave them some money anyway & they hugged us both I could of easily taken them home! It’s hard to see poverty first hand especially in such a beautiful place! We got back to the hotel just after sunset after freshening up we went to to hotel bar & then the restaurant the food was really good & the gin was even better ha.
