I managed to get a few hours sleep on the flight after watching two films, it felt really strange when we arrived in Portugal as it was almost lunch time but still felt like early morning. We got a taxi to the hotel which was only pretty close so took about 10-15 mins which was great! The hotel took our luggage and advised us we could check in as soon as a room was available. We sat on the roof terrace which was cute but pretty small, the pool was absolutely freezing! We ended up chatting up a couple who were from Toronto Ed & Lawrence they were lovely, also a few southern girls who were on a girls weekend one of which her grandparents lived in Burnley wow what a small world! Our room was ready early so we had a shower and headed down to the fan zone area ready for one of the biggest games, Portugal V Spain it was absolutely packed we managed to find a shop for a few beers then went into a restaurant where they had big screens and sat outside for the second half. Ronald scored a hat trick the city went crazy! We went to a few bars for drinks afterwards but then headed back for some much needed sleep in a comfy bed!
