Friendship bracelets
Off to school again for another day. Today we helped by setting up the water for all the 150ish kids. After this we sorted out the treat of mandarins before we got pulled into playing snakes and ladders again, this time with a plan. Sarah went to the next table and setup to make friendship bracelets. After a minute a girl walked in and Sarah offered to teach her. It was only after one game we moved onto the other table and making bracelets. I just had one question, how do you make them? I went from no idea to teaching, in one minute.
It was a huge hit with the seniors and is scheduled for Monday. We helped with the fleas and it looked like it was going to be painful with a very slow starter. However the fleas smashed their mains and left Quickly, mandarin in hand and a massive smile. It's odd because the soup was fantastic and the main was only ok.
Sarah started in the other room, making the bracelets with the older juniors..... or it was ment to be. When i was in the middle of cleaning, I came to see how it was going and the supervisors quickly told me to help (Sarah had 12 students, not 8 which would be 4 each) and they would clean. It was much more difficult with the younger kids, however one of the youngest boys was the best, and he would be lucky to be nine. By the end, a half hour over time none of the kids wanted to leave. We may have a little, but it was great fun.
Through the markets on the way home and back to our new best friends on the fruit and vegetables area. They were so happy to see us again, and again it was only sol cinquenta (around 60c). We thought it best to head to the wool shop again to buy some more supplies as the bracelets were a hit! It is manned by people who really don't want business. They block the doorway and its such an effort to get in, then they don't talk at all when you pay, you have to ask or else they just stand with their hand out..... Then you have to get out again.
We headed home with all our goodies in hand, ready to cook the same meal again. When we got back Sarah googled how to make other styles of of the friendship bracelets. We trailed a few but they may be a little difficult for the kids.
Spanish lesions were really good again. We only have 3 more lesions and we will finish 'basic' Spanish.
