School, day 2
Off to school for day two and our first class teaching English. Initially we helped cut up vegetables, but really we have no idea what they were, and I'm not sure how to explain them either. Shaped a little like a green pepper, light green in color and white and fluffy inside. When cooked it is like celery and onion, no real flavour and partially translucent.
We finished the bags of this green things and set up the class ready to teach 5-15 kids English introductions. We had 7 students and it was great fun. We finished with the option of helping with homework. We helped a different girl with her English homework and then it was already lunchtime. After bolting some lunch ourselves, we set up lunch for the 'fleas' and tried to control them, this time it was just us. Ilda (one of the cooks) came over and straightened them out. Finishing up with the trouble makers took most of the time and after this we helped clean up the room. i 'did my usual' and grabbed a few books for me to read and we are done for the day.
We headed home to fit in some study but after a little bit, i realised it was the perfect time to back up photos. Over two hours later and most of the photo were backed up with the new ones added to Facebook. I had square eyes and very little patience left but at least it was done, I guess.
After our second class with Jessica we headed around the corner to see an apartment that's on offer through Sabine with a chicka named Amira. The room was awesome, she is lovely and a private cook and the price is 25 sol per day, that's $10 (compared to $10 each a day where we were and $20 each everywhere!). We tried a Dutch waffle cookie and left for now, we move in tomorrow at 10am.
So, back for our last night in the hostel.
