We (I) have had enough of the retreat and have made a run for it.
On our way back south we went to look at the 2nd largest tree in New Zealand and we think maybe even the world. It was so gianormous it made even Steve look teenie- it actually looked like a cliff face. Steve took pictures and a video and is compiling an album.
We are now in the fabulous sea side town of owera bay. We have muscled our way into a very expensive serviced appartment complex on a lovely reduced cheap rate- we said the information centre told us about this. Normally I might despise this sort of place but the retreat has obviously made me think differently. Interesting. Apparently everywhere is booked around Auckland for a huge U2 concert. Steves going to download some songs for us to listen to. We have also managed a cheap car extension deal so get to keep that too.
We are booked in to see HARRY POTTER tomorrow night. WHOPEEEE.
We cannot eat out at all now- but thats no hardship. We had lamb, spinach and mash tonight with an orange and some marshmallows for pudding. Our view over the bay is glorious, we are on the 11th floor, and we have watched the sun set over the sea. We have big floor to ceiling glass doors out onto the balcony.
This is great until you think they are open and try to dash outside- my head and knee still throb. Yes Steve HA hA it must have been very funny. I am loving the washing machine, the dishwasher and some electric plugs (more than 1!) Luxury.
