I arrived surprisingly fresh after the night bus, of the 10 hour journey I must have slept 9 of the hours. We check in and they have a room for us already so we dump our bags and bump into hammish and his girlfriend who were at our previous hostel. They tell us about the mirador tower which is a cheap alternative to see the nazca lines rather than getting a $100 plane ride over them. We decide to go there and see why there about. It's only a 20 minute bus journey so once we're sorted we head back to the bus station and get on a bus to the mirador tower. Once we get there its pretty lame, just a big tower in the middle of nowhere. We climb the tower for two soles and get to the top to see... Absolutely f*** all! We can kind of make out the lines, we take a few snaps and go back down. The adventure to see some amazing nazca lines that we thought would take a couple of hours has turned out to be a s***ty tower in the middle of the desert where u can hardly see the lines. Thinking that if we went back now we wouldn't have anything to do we decide to take a trek back to the town and as most buses going back to nazca would pick us up this wasn't a problem. We set our sights on the horizon and started to walk. It took about half an hour to get the brow and once over there was a new brow, we headed for that. Nothing but straight road and scorching desert heat. Once over the next brow there was a new one about the same distance as whole time we'd been walking. By this time we'd walked about an hour and a half and with no goal in sight we decided to call it a day and flag a bus down. Obviously a bus didn't drive past for about 20 minutes but when it finally did it did stop. We get on and it takes us back to the bus stop. It's a lot longer than I remembered so it was probably the right idea to get on the bus. Once back it's mid afternoon and we chill on the roof terrace and do exercise until the night draws in. I've decided to detox until my birthday in a weeks time so I'm happy just chilling and reading as the following week with be messy plus the following month is action packed. The next day we wake up early and go on a tour round the cemetery to see some nazca and inca mummies. The tour is actually ok. Even thou it's basically just some dug up bodies in the desert I actually found it quite interesting. Afterwards we go to a pottery factory and a gold mining distillery which weren't so interesting. When we get back I go for a haircut and again just chill on the terrace exercising. The night again draws in and we go and get some chicken and continue our cutch on the roof. Not the perfect Saturday night but I'm keeping my eye on the goal in Lima! After an early night the next morning I wake up early just spend the morning watching the prem which is generally just the plan for the day. We watch real bs barca at 1, go and grab a chicken lunch and head for the bus which leaves at 16.30.
