Hi,
After an unexpected night out on the tiles, we both pulled ourselves out of bed at 8am and walked down to the pick up point for our ferry to Phi Phi island. As per usual the boat was 45mins late, so Brad fell asleep on the beach while Ross was on look out for the boat. It soon came into the bay and we jumped onto a very busy boat. After a couple of hours we arrived and immediately looked for accomodation and due to it being our last stop in Thailand we decided to splash a bit of cash and go for lovely aircon and warm shower.
The temperature on the West side of Thailand is totally different to the Eastern Islands, its far more humid; nearly 100% infact but at the same time scorching hot.
So that evening we headed out to find some dinner and to find out what Phi Phi was about. We soon found a quality bar called "Reggae Bar", its a normal bar but with a Thai Boxing ring in the middle. The idea behind it is you do 3 rounds of boxing and then get a free bucket full of alcohol/mixer. We saw some brutal fights there over 4 nights in which we saw bloody noses and cut faces. So funny what people will do for a free drink. We both decided we could afford the drink and stayed well away.
After Reggae Bar we walked down to the beach party that happens every night down on the shore. They're 2 main bars/clubs on the beach which play new commercial music from around the world. After a night on the drink we headed home early due to our early start that morning.
The next day we chilled out on the beach and didn't really do much, until the evening. We didn't go mental this evening though due to our hungover state from the night before and the fact we had to be up early for scuba diving the following day.
The next morning we rose early and jumped on a boat to go scuba diving. With Brads now hooked on diving after he completed his Open Water Diving Course we were both free to go on fun dives which means we can go diving wherever we want :) The first of the dives were good. There is more colourful coral and less fish on the West coast, but still amazing. In between dives the boat stopped at Ao Maya which is where the film "The Beach" was recorded. On the second dive we were both really hoping to see turtles, unfortunatley for Brad he ran out of air before the rest of the group so had to head up 10mins early. In those 10mins Ross saw 3 fairly big turtles which mad his day, not so much for Brad though.
That evening we headed out into town and hit the same bars/clubs as the prevoius night. We were both dancing around and we suddenly bumped into a few friends from home. Really random but at the same time it was nice to see a familiar face. We then stayed with them all night partying away.
The next day Brad was struck down with what he calls "the worst hangover I have ever had" which subsequently ruled him out for a day. So once again Ross hit the beach on his own looking for new people to meet. And funny enough he bumped into the couple that we met in Koh Tao who works with Brad in his pub. Ross then chilled out with them all day and night.
The next day it was Ross's turn for a hangover but he didn't stay in bed like his lil bro and manned up and hit the beach. We then went for a kayak around a part of the island, but we didn't get far before we were tired and headed back to the beach for some rest lol. That night we met up with all the people from home, ended up being nearly 15 of us and we all had drinks at the Spooners place and then hit the beach as per normal. Brilliant night but it unfortunatly ended bad as Arsenal got knocked out by Barcelona.
The next morning we had to move to pastures new in Malaysia x
