17th-21st, Koh Phangan

We got up early to get our ferry over to the legendary island of Koh Phangan. The boat trip only took a short hour from Koh Samui. We arrived on Haad Rin pier at 10am and immediatley started looking for a place to stay. It soon became apparent that everywhere was full and after 3hrs of searching in the blistering heat we decided to move away from the main tourist area and somewhere more relaxed. As soon as we did within 30minutes we found ourselves in a wooden beach hut on the beach with no music or nutter tourists.

We got settled and just chilled out for the rest of the day, until evening that was and all hell breaks loose on the beach. We headed down from a peaceful beach hut to the hectic Haad Rin beach which was a 10min taxi away. Once we got to the beach you can just see thousands of people dancing to techno, reggae, rock and pop. The most common drink consumed is a bucket, these consist of a spirit and a mixer. Usually more spirit than mixer. You could drink 2 or 3 buckets and be smashed. As Ross found out for 3 nights on the trott :)

On the 1st night we met up with some Auzzies Ross had made friends with while Brads was in hospital. Ross could finally prove to them that his brother was real and not that Ross had made up a story to start a convo with them lol. We ended up hitting the sack early, around 4.30am after a quality first night :)

We woke up at 12noon and got a taxi straight to the girls hotel which was luxurous and spent the day relaxing on the beach and drinking alot of water. At around 9pm we all headed out for dinner and then afterwards headed down to Haad Rin beach for the inevitable.

The next day was pretty much the same as the previous but with one difference, it was the Full Moon Party. We headed down to the beach at midnight having prelashed at the girls pad. The beach was ridiculously packed with around 50000 people standing on podiums, jumping over giant fire skipping ropes (in which Ross burnt his ankle), small foam parties, water slides and general carnage. Ross, Brad and a few Auzzie lads lost the girls straight away so troopered on. At 5am Brad hit the sack, but Ross stayed out with the boys and troopered on til 12noon the following morning when the music got turned off lol, there were still thousands of people on the beach, some of the boys headed to bed, but Ross and a few lads just went for breakfast (who needs sleep). As Ross was leaving he looke down the beach and just saw a handful of people passed out and a ridiculous amount of bottles and general rubbish. Its awful but at the same time carnage lol.

For both of us we can honestly say it was one of the best nights we have ever had. It's brilliant fun and we guarentee that we are both coming back. After breaky we once again chilled out on the beach and and booked our boat to Koh Tao. We then decided to go and watch brutal Thai boxing fight (Muay Thai), we saw 2 knockouts and we can honestly say those people who get in the ring must have a screw loose......stuff that!

After that we hit the sack early as we were both shattered from the prevoius night
