Hey everyone,
Sorry It's been so long since we updated the blog, we've been having too much fun out here in Indonesia.
We flew into the Indonesian island of Bali, the flight from Singapore was a very bumpy one due to a lot of storm clouds below us, which both of us weren't keen on. Once we touched down we jumped into a cab and headed towards the travellers part of the island called Kuta. It's the busiest town on the island and boosts good beaches, surf, clubs, shops and food. We soon found ourself a nice hotel with a swimming pool.
Due to Ross having a few infections and illnesses prior to leaving Singapore we didn't really do much for 3 days in Kuta. We would lay around the pool all day soaking up the rays. It was driving us both crazy, especially Ross as he couldn't even get in the pool due to his infections.
After 3 days we booked a speed boat to a small island called Gili Trawangan. Less than 2hrs later we were sitting in paradise on the nicest, most remote beach we have ever laid on. As we arrived we started speaking to someone who was travelling on his own and asked if he could share a room with us. Both of us were a bit uncertain at first, but we went along with it. He was also a Bradley James strangely enough. We soon were joking around with him and having a good laugh. Canadian Brad had already been on the island for a few days and had met some friends who we got introduced to. We also made good friends with all of our next door neighbours, and within 24hrs were having 30people strong parties in our hostel room. It was the best fun we've had in a long time. During the day on Gili you can either soak up some more rays on the beach or you can go and explore the island on a push bike. There are no motor vehicles on Gili which was so nice. Nice and quiet!
After 5days of relaxing and having a few beverages in the evening we had to head back to the mainland, we really didn't want to leave this place. It was amazing.
We and all the friends we met all headed back to the same hotel in Kuta, after a night of relaxing once again. We woke up and hired out a few small motorbikes to go and see the island. Once out of the main town the countryside was so beautiful and idyllac. We went to place on the most southern tip of Bali called Uluwatu, it was beautiful. Cliffs with beautiful coral bays and good surfing conditions. That evening we had a farewell drink to most of the people who were leaving the following morning. The clubs in Kuta are even better than home, 6 stories with a different genre on each floor. Love it. Slowly but surely the group got smaller and smaller as people were heading home or off to another destination.
Overall we both think Indonesia has been one of the best places we have visitied so far. The people are so friendly towards you and make your stay as good as possible. We have met some amazing people here too and we really hope we can keep in contact with them regardless where they live in the world.
Speak soon homies x
