Today we went back to Kingman so we didn't miss out any of Route 66 instead of going straight to Los Angeles as our tour package suggested. We overslept this morning. It seems the excitement of Vegas was all too much for some people! Got on our way later than we would've liked but we had to have pancakes for breakfast before we left. They were amazing! Our first stop today was the Hoover Dam. We decided to go on the guided tour which showed us one of the tunnel...

Once we get back to Williams we stopped at the Route 66 Bar & Grill there for lunch. It was all done up 50s style and the food was amazing. Everything is supersized over here. The coke they gave us with our meal was nearly a litre! Once we had finished our lunch we were ready to get back on our Route 66 journey. Grand Canyon today! We got up relatively early and had breakfast at the hotel. It was a lush buffet breakfast with sausages, scrambled eggs, pancakes etc. We both felt very fat afterwards. There's a theme going on here.. Once we'd finished breakfast we got on the road and went straight up to the Grand Canyon. No matter how much you try, you can't convey the magnitude of it in any amount of photos you take. The weather has been much better today than yesterday....

This morning we had a lie in and found breakfast at the diner we had been to last night. By the time we got to the diner though they had stopped serving breakfast and were on the lunch menu; I had a chicken salad with cheese, croutons and mayo (still probably the healthiest thing I've eaten all honeymoon though!), and Andy had a triple decker club sandwich. As it was now dark we moved on from the park to check into our stay for the night (absolutely incredible sunset for the last part of our drive!), and then found another local diner to have tea at (another burger for Rosie and grilled salmon for me). Was so good I think we'll head there for breakfast too!! As we're right next to the railway, the whole hotel shakes every time a train goes by! Time for bed.
