Day 25: We were staying another night in the Hunter Valley so a relaxing day ahead. The sun was out and by breakfast it was already too hot to contemplate anything strenuous so we headed to the Hunter Valley Gardens.
We wandered aimlessly around the gardens enjoying the peace and quiet (lot of wine was drunk last night). The gardens are relatively new, and have themed areas, our favorite was the story time section which brought to life nursery rhymes and children's books. Second perhaps the rose garden, or the pond in the Chinese garden with it's carp.
After the garden, and getting lost on the maze of local roads, we headed to the Bluetongue Brewery Cafe for lunch. Pie and Beer was the order of the day, light beer as we had wine to taste.
Next to the Mistletoe Winery which is a small winery that has won numerous awards, due to it's size it doesn't supply through the regular bottle shops in Australia so this would be an opportunity to try something we would not get elsewhere. After trying the range we purchased a couple of bottles for the growing wine cellar.
A quick cooling swim in the hotel pool ended the afternoon, then out for a posh dinner.
Back on the road tomorrow.
