AAHHHHHHH Queenstown where to begin!!??
Queenstown is a bit of a holy grail for backpackers where everyone seems to go for either a teapot, fergburger, 134m bungy jump or the Richard Lindley patented 'jetty jumping'
A teapot can be found in the backpacker world bar where they serve cocktails in a teapot, a fergburger is the WORLDS biggest burger, the nevis bungy is the 4th/5th highest in the world...we dont know exactly because neither of us did it?! and jumping off the ferry jetty which I started and was the only one to do it everyday, but by the end the whole group was flinging ourselves off that jetty into the cold cold water!!
Queenstown itself was a really nice place and the views were good. On St Patricks day Team America (me, hannah, dan and emma) went for a huge walk around the lake and then just messed around in the kids park and climbing huge trees and generally just having a load of meaningless fun. Emma who has been travelling for over 1year told us it was her favourite day in the whole of her travelling, this was cool and so we decided to celebrate by going for a beer on the lake and then getting ready with the "green" theme and going out for St Patricks day. (many teapots were drunk hehe!)
Other days in Queenstown were spent Luging...which is basically go-karting down a huge hill, there was a big group of us and we had so much fun! Queenstown was a lot of peoples last destination but as we had more time we stayed longer. All the people we have met and travelled with have been awesome and it sucked going all our seperate ways. although we are gonna meet up with Emma in Fiji and maybe a couple of the others there if possible.
