We came across to Magnetic Island yesterday, it's a little island (20k long) off the coast of Townsville. There is very little to do here other than watersports or walking as 70% of the island is National Park. It's a great place to relax though. We're staying in a hostel as we couldn't bring the van over and it's good to be in a proper bed for a couple of nights. We decided to do xmas presents to each other and took a plane ride over the island. It was in a red baron propeller plane with an open cockpit which was pretty cool. We had to wear hats and goggles too!! We had a great view of the island and managed to get some good shots, the only bit I didn't like was when he turned it on it's side to show off a bit. Apparently the plane was used in a movie with Billy Zane and we sat where he did!!
We hit the mainland again tomorrow and go to Mission Beach, our last stop in the camper before we have to return it.
