Well, I felt well enough to have a go at exploring today. We took the sky train to Chatuchak Market, reckoned to be the biggest in Bangkok. Oh dear, when we reached the station, people were hanging over the balcony in awe at the sight. The place was pretty much under water! People were donning wellies etc and there were a few buses still trying to make their way down the flooded street but it was a no go for us. Back in the train we headed to Siam Square. We later heard this is about the only place not affected at all just yet. We went to Jim Thompson's house, the second time our paths have crossed on this trip. Jim was an American born dude who is credited with the revival of traditional Thai silk making and disappeared in mysterious circumstances while on his hold in the Cameron Highlands. No trace of him or clue as to what happened to him has ever been found. The house was in the traditional Thai style and full of beautiful antiques. Before we went home we visited Wat Pathum Wanaram, where the monks were engaging in afternoon prayer. Only one day left now!
