Mom and Lora have arrived here safely! I met them yesterday morning at Victoria Station. I had only been waiting about 5 minutes when they got off the train, so it was perfect timing! After buying tube passes and lugging their luggage behind us, we finally arrived back at my flat around 10:30. They were able to check into their hotel earlier than we originally thought, so that was helpful. Mom and Lora are staying at the Marriott Maida Vale, which is conveniently located only about 15 minutes from my flat. Yesterday afternoon we found a quiet café to eat lunch at Convent Garden. We walked around the market for a while, even though it was raining. We were planning on taking a walk by the Thames, but we decided to visit a museum instead since it was raining. I took Mom and Lora to the Victoria and Albert Museum, which I visited a few weeks ago.We spent a few hours in the museum, but Mom and Lora were pretty jet lagged. Around 4:30 we headed by to my flat to fix a quick dinner.I took them back to their hotel around 7:30, where they promptly went to sleep!!
This morning I met Mom and Lora at their hotel at around 9:30 to begin our day. Thankfully, today was beautiful and pretty sunny for London! We began with a walk by the Thames so they could see Parliament, Big Ben, and the London Eye. We took some gorgeous photos of the River before heading to Tower of London. We had to wait in a pretty long ticket line for Tower of London, but thankfully we had packed our lunch to eat while we waited. The Tower of London was fabulous- it's probably one of my favorite things so far! We were able to walk around the whole fortress, which is made up of many smaller towers. The most notable part was the tour of the Jewel House, where the Crown Jewels are stored. As you can imagine, it was amazing to see all the royal crowns sparkling in one room! I think it was a great introduction to London for Mom and Lora!
