On Monday the 18th of May we left Sarah & Sven's house to head to Perth. The weather still wasn't great but it was clearing. We got to Perth around lunch time and made our way to Kings Park in the city. This is a fantastic park for both kids and adults. We spent some time here as there are lots of fun things to see and do. We never planned to do much in Perth this time round. It's not a great city to be towing a big caravan around in. After Kings Park we headed north and set up at a free camp at Moore's River. Nice spot but too much road noise to sleep well. The next day we headed off towards Geraldton, stopping to view the Pinnacles along the way. These Pinnacles are funny limestone structures that protrude out of the ground. They are all shapes and sizes but no taller than four meters in height. They make the landscape look like a huge graveyard. It was really interesting and everybody enjoyed exploring the area. From there we headed to a coastal town called Cervantes. We got a few supplies and headed just out of town to a free camp (Point Louise) right on the beach. Great spot! Waking up on Wednesday the 20th to the sound of waves crashing on the beach reminded me I wasn't dreaming. It was a great feeling to be actually out with the family doing this trip we had planned for so long.
