Today we left caravan in the caravan park and headed west 110km (60km) of dirt. We arrived at the Dinosaur Stampede National Monument at Lake Quarry Conservation Park. Here 95 million years ago a heard of small legged dinosaurs and two larger dinosaurs came to drink on the edge of what was then a lake. Day 2 at Longreach. We packed up the caravan and headed back to the Qantas Museum to finish off patrs of the museum we didn't get to yesterday. At around 10am we headed across to the Stockmans Hall Of Fame to take in the Stockmans Show. This was a really reatvand entertaining show, the stockman explained all about being a stockman in outback Queensland. He did funny skits, sung a song and did animal demonstrations. We arrived in Longreach early on the 16th of August and went straight to the tourist information centre. We discoved there is plenty of amazing things to see and do here. We also discovered that eveything is frightfully expensive. We decided we would visit the Qantas Museum and see a demonstration at the Stockmans Hall Of Fame. We thought two days here would be good. We left out free camp hoping to get to Longreach. Weather was 32 degrees. Stopped at Blackhall for lunch and the kids had a good play in the playground. We stopped again in the afternoon at Barcaldine to fill our water tanks and check out the tree of knowledge. During the 1891 National Shearers Strike the formation of the Australian Labor and Political Movement (Australian Labor Party) emerged from beneath this tree, the tree of knowledge.

Roma Windscreens were fantastic today. They drove straight across from Roma to Mitchell just to replace our windscreen on the Prado. They also looked after us on price. We were very thankful and after lunch were able to get back on the road. We have pulled up at a free camp for the evening at Augathella. The landscape has changed, we certainly are in remote and outback Queensland now.
