Colleen & Tom's Explorations
So this morning we had a leisurely start to our day, having brekky down in the Horizon Club room, and then returning to our suite to sit to pack and read and watch the people parasailing from the back of a boat down in the inlet. We had a late checkout of 12noon. After checking out we leisurely drove up to Port Douglas, just over an hour away. We arrived before checkin time of 2pm so we drove around the town and found "On the Inlet" - one of the restaurants recommended by Jess and Pete, and had a lovely lunch. It was delicious - I had coral trout (with veggies, which I've missed lately) and Tom had the handline caught mackerel. After lunch we found a Coles supermarket where we bought some finger foods to do as dinner before going around and checking in to Peppers Beach Club, our home for the next 2 nights. We have a ground floor room with a swim-up deck. We spent the rest of the afternoon paddling in the pool and laying on our deck chairs, shaded by the palm trees, snoozing and reading. Dinner was the finger food and a bottle of sparkly, followed later by another dip in the pool and watching the bats flying overhead. Blissful.
