This morning we ate a very hearty breakfast - we're on our own from here. We saw more of our Insight family at breakfast and said our farewells to them, then retuned to our room to pack and prepare to move on. Checkout is not until 12 noon and check in at our next hotel is at 2pm so we will just take it easy. Of course when we went to check out just before noon, so many of our group were downstairs so we farewelled once again. We walked our luggage up to the station and caught the metro to Gare Austerlitz, where we then trundled across Pont du Charles de Gaulle, through Gare de Lyon and out the other side to the Novotel. Just a 45 minute wait in the very pleasant lobby before our room was ready. Our room looks out onto Gare de Lyon, where we catch the high speed train from to Geneva on Monday. We went for a wander around this afternoon. It's certainly not like the area around Le Meridien, and Novotel over here seems to be not to the same standard as those in Australia, but that's okay, it's just a base. Crepes for dinner (salmon for me, chicken for Tom) - it's been too many years. Had fun watching the French version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. We did pretty well!!
