Thursday 4th September -
Breakfast on Thursday morning was served in the restaurant at 06:30! We had half an hour to get down to breakfast, eat, grab our things for the day and make our way to the end of the dock where we were to board the boat. As you can imagine, there were alot of sick people and some didnt even make it down to breakfast!
The weather wasnt great, actually is was raining and overcast. The forecast for the rest of the day wasnt changing, but it didnt stop anyone from continuing the drinking on board. I think my first glass of baileys was at 07:25! Hair of the dog and all that!
We cruised to Whitehaven Beach to do some snorkelling. I was reluctant to get into the water, because it was so cold, but did tell myself that Im not in the Whitsundays every day, so I should make the most of it now. We got into the dingey in small groups and Vinnie (another deckhand) took us over to the coral so that we could do the 'James Bond' backwards fall into the water! It was so funny!
The fishes that we saw were stunning. It was so cold in the sea, but totally worth every freezing minute!
We swam to the beach and played beach football for an hour bfore boarding the boat and making our way back to South Molle Island.
I should admit now that I do suffer from sea sickness, but the alcohol I drank seemed to make the feeling go away whilst at sea. But when we got back to the island, I felt terrible. I took a shower and was swaying standing up, thinking I was still at sea!
We had dinner at 19:00 and had a couple of drinks, but decided it was probably for the best to get an early night because we wanted to enjoy our last day.
I was sharing a room with William & Claire from Ireland and Yann & Felix from Germany. Yann and Felix are in a band back home and Yann had his guitar with him so we sat out on the balcony, Yann playing the guitar and we were all singing. It was a great last evening at the island.
