Ive had an amazing day at Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo!
Last night, I ended up getting a bus to 'The Gap' - a suburb outside of Brisbane City centre, with Ciaron. His Auntie lives there and he had to go and pick a few things up because he was due to start his new job today, labouring.
We were back at the hostel by 8pm and I was shattered so decided to call it a day and head to bed! I had a shower and was tucked up in bed by 9pm, for a good nights sleep before having to get up early today. Or so I thought...!
At midnight, the rest of the people in the dorm got back, completely drunk, singing and laughing and thought it would be a good idea to play the guitar, in the room, at the end of my bed! I couldnt believe it. I wasnt sure whether to cry or laugh. I kind of sat up and watched them for about fifteen minutes, but it didnt last long because I was so tired. They left the room and I fell asleep again...
At 02:00 this morning, they all came back into the room, and thought it would be yet another good idea, to have a chocolate (nutella) spread fight. This spread was EVERYWHERE, over the walls, clothes, bed sheets, everywhere! It actually almost ended up in a fight, but me and another girl (who was also in bed) got out of bed to break it up and told them to take it elsewhere because we were trying to sleep...
At 06:15 this morning, I was woken up again by the same people, singing, dancing and tapping on the door, to Carl playing the guitar again. It was absolutely ridiculous, so I just decided to get up and have a shower and head out into the city for breakfast.
I met Ciaron outside the hostel at 07:30 and we walked into the city for breakfast - Starbucks muffin and a large tea with loads of milk and sugar - and made our way to the hotel up the street to be collected. We were both being picked up at 08:10 - Ciaron for work and my bus for the zoo.
I got chatting to the bus driver whilst we were waiting for the other people to come down and it turns out hes from Wembley in London and has been living in Australia for 40 years! He has just moved down here from Cairns because his friend needed help running the bus company - hence why he was there to pick me up! He drove us to the bus station, where we were picked up by a bigger bus - the Croc Express, to take us to the zoo. I ended up getting chatted up by the 90 year old 'new' bus driver - who even offered to put a sticker on my top, just so he could get a good old touch of my left breast! It was funny - he did try, bless him! I politely told him to p**s off and it was a good try - he found the funny side of it, thank God!
So, it was a 45 minute drive to the zoo, which also included a tour of Brisbane too. We arrived in Beerwah (outside of Brisbane) at 10:00 and I made my way into the park.
I was so excited - my first encounter was with crocodiles and then koalas! They were my first koala that I had seen since being here, so I asked a couple of American girls to take some pictures of me with them. I also walked through a big field with hundreds of kangaroos in! Again, I had my pictures taken with them!
Ive just got back to Brisbane now. I dont have much planned for tongiht yet. I have to be up early again tomorrow because Im going to Movieworld theme park, Im being picked up at 08:10.
