Wednesday 10th September -

Everyone's alarms went off at 06:00 this morning because we had to pack up camp and make it accross the island to Lake Wabby by 08:00, to spend the morning there.

Jacob cooked bacon and egg sandwiches for everyone whilst the rest of the group packed up camp. We had an accident in the truck yesterday with a carton of milk, so the van smelt so bad when we opened it up! It was terrible. We spent all day airing it out - all windows were open at all times!

We drove accross the island, 45 minutes to Lake Wabby. Lake Wabby is the deepest lake on Fraser island. There was an hour's walk through the forrest to get to it. We spent a couple of hours at the lake, sunbathing and swimming before walking back to the trucks to drive back to the barge for our 14:30 trip back to Hervey Bay.

So, after two nights sleeping in a camp, with no shower, no toilets... After crapping in the woods (just the once!), drinking 150 cans of beer and 16 litres of goon (wine), looking like I had been dragged through a hedge and almost getting eaten by a dingo; I had an amazing three days at Fraser Island. Althouth if youd asked me to do it all over again, I was say no way (due to the camping and lack of toilet facilities on the island)!!
