Today we arrive in Cusco, Peru and stayed at the beautiful hotel Aranwa. We had a bit of altitude adjustment at 10,000 feet. The hotel actually vents additional oxygen in the rooms to assist with the adjustment and coca tea is also recommended.
Cusco is Peru's Historical Capital City, as well as America's Archeological Capital City.
We took an afternoon tour which included the Cathedral in the Plaza, the temple of the Sun as well as the ruins of Sacsayhuaman. This gave us an overview of the Inka settlement in the early 1500's and their amazing building techniques. Some of the boulders in the fortress weigh over 100 tons.
We love this city and the city square with wonderful restaurants and shops. We have learned very quickly how much we love the Peruvian food!!
