Today we headed to see the Southeast Maui coast. We had taken the road to Hana and returned the same route previously so today we traveled the other direction. This road took us upcountry and then around the south coast. Parts of the road are unpaved and narrow but a very unique coast with lava landscape. Randy was very interested to get to Kipahulu as this is where Charles Lindbergh wanted to be buried and felt it was some of the most beautiful countryside. We visited his grave and it was a beautiful area but also very remote so probably what attracted Lindbergh.
This road also took us past the Tedeschi Winery where we stopped for wine tasting.
We had a chance to stop at some roadside farmers markets and enjoyed our upcountry and coastal drive.
