We were up very early for our flight to Sydney, we then had a 5 hour wait for our connecting flight to Bangkok, so pretty much exactly 24hours after leaving our hostel in Fiji, we were checking in to our hostel in Bangkok - well trying to. Dave and I had planned ahead knowing our flight would get us in in the early hours, we wanted to make sure we had a bed! With Dan changing his plans, he changed this booking over the phone in New Zealand, to make sure he too had a bed. However, on arrival we discovered that the booking had been made, but they didnt have a room available for 3 people, so we'd have to have separate rooms, too tired to argue, we went with this on the promise we could change rooms the following day.
We woke up the next morning keen to swap rooms, so we can go out, however, yet again they hadn't made the booking and we were given 3 choices stay put, move to a deluxe suite for 3 or get out. Having argued to no avail, we ended up getting the deluxe suite, as it was only slightly more than the cost of 2 rooms, to make it fairer on Dan and then made sure we had the correct room booked and paid for for the following night!
We then went out and booked our trip up to the Laos boarder, which put us in much better moods! That afternoon we also went to Bangkok market which is Huge!! To get to it we had to take the sky train and the market started at one stop and finished at the next! It was pretty cool to walk around, as it literally sold everything!
Today after sorting out our visas for Vietnam, we went to MBK, which is another market/mall and is pretty similar to the market we went to yesterday, except its all undercover and air conditioned, with low prices so you don't need to barter. We plan to go back before we return home to spend any left over money - which probably wont be much!!
