I've had a busy week, but managed to do some well-needed chilling this week too which is a nice balance. Work is still going well. This week has gone quite quickly, which is always good. It's a short working week due to the Apec summit going on in Sydney. Although it has created utter chaos, with 5m high fences, road closures and ferry, train and bus services all messed up, most of New South Wales have been given the day off tomorrow (Friday). This is great, but the reasons behind it are crazy. I don't know how true this is but apparently President Bush needs a no fly zone and no mobile phones or any other electical signals can be used around him for security reasons. This means the entire CBD of Sydney is rendered useless while he's in town. All this for one man!
It's not so hot today, but last week I enjoyed unseasonably warm temperatures of 26-27 degrees C, and this is winter. I was loving it. Back to normal this week now though, but it's starting to turn to spring now, which is good.
Just a couple of random things: they sell puppies in pet shops over here. It's mad! They're in little glass boxes in the shops. They have all the 'fashionable' breeds. A 'Mitzu' which is a s***zu mixed with a Maltese! A "Moodle' (Poodle crossed with a Maltese) you get the picture!! Just down from our flat towards the beach there are some nesting penguins which are cute. Amy assures me they are Fairy penguins, but it's not my area of speciality, so I trust her. Thay are small though and Fairy kind of suits them! They come out late at night and hang around by the wharf.
The biggest news on this blog is that I went to see the filming of Australian Idol on Monday night. Kat won tickets so we rocked on up at Fox studios and had a great time. It was the show where the final 12 contestants were named as only 8 had been chosen originally. I had watched some of the auditions on tv and luckily remembered some of the finalists. They were all so young! It was a really good night and I whooped and cheered and clapped the loudest! I'll put some photos up of the night, but obviously no one knows who anyone is!
I'm looking forward to the Rugby World Cup. Got all the games in my diary and hoping to see most of them, that's if they don't clash with Wallabies games as that'll be what's shown. It's great having the games late at night over here as it often coincides with my drinking time! Yey!
Right, I think that's about it from me, for now anyway.
