We left Vietnam and our bus took us over the border where we had to get our Cambodian visas and then straight through to Phnom Phen, the capital. It was a riverside city with lots of Western influences and guesthouses and restaurants. We had a really nice Indian meal the first night we got there, after a quick walk around our new surroundings. We spent our last morning in Hanoi visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in which his body lays in state for visitors to see. We then went around the buildings where he used to work and live. This was quite interesting although very hot and there was a lot of queing and many people. We are currently in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. We left Loas after our over night stay in the homestay village. It was great to spend some time with a traditional rural Loas family. We got to drink their home brewed rice wine from a terracotta pot through bamboo straws and were welcomed as one of them. Well, this is our first blog entry from Southeast Asia. So far our travels have brought us to Laos. We started off in Bangkok after a bit of a bumpy start with confusion over whether we were actually on our flight out of Australia! I have less than 2 weeks left in Australia. The last month has gone so quickly and I have actually been kept very busy! Even the weekends have been busy! It's been a bit of a blur.
