We went to bed at about 9.00pm last night hoping to get a decent sleep before we had to get up. Everyone in the dorm was really noisy up until midnight so when we got up at 2.00am, we didn't make any effort to keep the noise down and even turned the light on to check we had packed everything up.
We walked down to the bus station to catch our bus to the airport. The flight was fine and we managed to have a sleep. We arrived in Auckland and went to pick up our hire car.
The car was totally covered in scratches and with 200,000 km on the clock had seen better days but would be ideal for our trip. By this stage we were feeling very tired as we hadn't really slept for the past two nights so we needed to find somewhere to stay, but before that we needed more camping gear.
By chance as we left the airport we spotted a store named "Warehouse", heading there already armed with two tents we bought sleeping mats, bedding, and chairs.
The town we decided to head to for the moment was called Orewa, about an hour north of Auckland. The site was really nice and as a bonus much cheaper than the prices in Oz. Once set we went on a little walk around the huge park, played on the trampolines, spoke to a British couple about their time here, and went to bed early.
