Yesterday to get to the National Park we'd had to head a little out of the way, so today the plan was to get back on the route heading west. Unfortunately this wasn't as easy as it sounds with the free maps we were using (we'd been assured they were concise enough by the tourist information), it is a nice place to get lost though. Anyway after about 45 minutes of wasted time we were heading along the state highway to a windy DoC. We picked up and soon found the sand-flies were going to join us here too, but worse!
We made some spag bol mixed with sand-flies for lunch then went on a nice walk for an hour around a spot where gold mining was big in the 1900s.
For tea we re-warmed what was left of lunch and sat about doing nothing much. As night drew in so did the clouds and it was obvious rain was on its way, had enough of the bites so we went in the tent.
As we sat in the tent doing quiz games we could see masses of the little b*****s flying around outside the sleeping compartment waiting for us to open the zip.
