Awoke on the now arctic tundra that is our bus wrap in a blanket and hugging myself to keep warm, it was light now though so no as bad as last night, we arrived at the bus station around midday and got bundled into a tuk tuk to the river which we had to cross from Laos to Thailand in again another super sketchy boat, I do no know how these things stay afloat! We arrived and got our visa stamped so we're now good until our flight in December!
We then jumped into the back of a pickup truck which drove us to the minibus which would take us to Chiangmai, but first, lunch of course! I had misses Thai food, both taste and the fact how cheap it is, after a little stop we got on our mini bus and arrived in Chiangmai around 4pm where after a bit of searching through some streets we found our new place to stay, it's quite nice and the owner is super friendly, although we had to pay £2 for the wifi password, sneaky Thai lady... We had arranged to meet Ash and Kish for dinner plus 2 German girls we met on the journey here Ulla and Kat, so after one of the most refreshing showers ever (post 22 hour trip) I threw on some clothes and we went to a little local place and picked up another cheap and tasty meal, we looked for a place to have a beer and stumbled across a place advertising 99THB margaritas (mug-aritas) as they were so big and you had a choice of 12 flavours, I polished off a pineapple, black cherry and piña colada flavours, safe to say rather merry by this point so we went to find a place to get another drink and have some fun, after asking about all 6 of us bundled into a 3 person tuk tuk and the driver took us to a little club (can't remember the name) we we sunk another drink and two and jumped around to music, majestically of course.. We called it a night around 1am as the girls had a cookery class in the morning and we were feeling the trip the day before, this is where my cultural eating stopped as came across a McDonalds and being the drunken Brits we were we all decided to charge in an order a Big Mac meal, I was drunk so naturally it tasted amazing, it was raining pretty heavy by the time we left so Jed and I hopped in a tuk tuk and it took us to our door which was a result, swiftly passed out and went into a alcohol/travel based coma, just before we crashed out though Jed and I agreed not to drink again until after our PADI was finished, let's see how long that lasts...
