Waking up in the jungle village was different but really cool, chilled out to the sound of everything going on around me for a while and then threw back my mosquito net and headed off into the village for breakfast, shortly after I bought a bead bracelet from one of the locals, I wouldn't usually buy one but they were so hospitable and super kind to us I thought I'd give them a little something back! We then headed down to the river where we washed the elephants and spent a bit more time with them, after a muddy walk back to the village which resulted in a few lost flip flops we chilled out and waited for our ride to turn up, after a short journey we arrived at a little road side cafe where we had lunch and waited for the rain to die off a little bit, we then trekked to a near by waterfall where one of the locals was using it as a water slide, bearing in mind it's about 20ft tall and made of rock... He looked like he was enjoying himself though so must have been fun, on the way up the waterfall I took a massive spillage as I wasn't really paying attention to there I was going and went ass up on the rock, completely soaked my right side, show included and my carrier bag with my water hit the rock and split sending my water rushing downstream... Good job Phil.. The only thing hurt was my pride as we were in a large group by this point so slightly embarrassed, but ah well, s*** happens eh. We then ventured upstream a bit where we had to sadly say good bye to new Aussie mates Murph and Lara who were really awesome and super nice, hope to see them again when we land in Aus, we then started our trek up the mountain towards the next village to where we staying, our tour guide put it blunt and told us there was no downhill today, all up with a slight flat every now and then, tough going but the views were amazing so totally worth it! We reached the village after about 2 hours pretty fast paced trekking where we had showers and then got served dinner by one of the locals, again it was all home grown food and really tasty, we then were chatting to a few of the people who had joined us earlier in the day when our guide told us that the local children's school wanted to sing to us and we could donate a bit of money afterwards to help with study equipment so we listened to them sing some local songs for a bit and have them a bit of money each, it was very humbling and different from my usual entertainment, we then got a fire going and shared travelling stories between the new group before calling it a night, another day of trekking tomorrow followed by rafting, gonna be good!
