Day 99. We have completed The Big Loop! But not before Raechel purchased some beautiful Jade jewellery items from Cowell Jade, noted for its dark green and black nephrite Jade. Up the Lincoln Highway we drove through industrial port city of Whyalla with its huge OneSteel mill and then Port Augusta with its huge coal fired power stations. We completed The Big Loop at Port Augusta and when we saw the sign pointing north to Darwin and Coober Pedy we joked about starting The Big Loop again after 99 days on the road! Turning south we passed through Port Pirie with its world's largest lead smelter and and stopped for a picnic lunch by the jetty at tiny Port Germain at the top of the Yorke Peninsular which claims to be the longest wooden jetty in Australia but we think we have seen longer! Onto the quaint small seaside village of Port Broughton where will stay for a few days visiting Raechel's mum and sister. So many lovely old stone buildings in these SA gulf towns. Dinner tonight home cooked crumbed lamb cutlets with vegies. Drove 340km, cool sunny day with strong winds.
