I'm meant to be catching the 10.30am ferry from Wellington across the Cook Strait's to Picton in the South Island. However it's been cancelled because of rough seas. There are 2 ferry companies who cross between North & South Island. The other company have also cancelled their 1.30pm sailing. I'm due to sail at 6pm, fingers crossed for calm water.
What to do with an extra day in Wellington? The Under 20 World Cup is going on in Wellington/ New Zealand. They had a couple of Argentian bands playing & people dancing so I sat and listened for a while. Coffee/lunch/tea.
I went back to the ferry terminal at 5.30pm, everything seems good to sail. A 3 hour crossing which was a little rough but OK. By chance I had some ginger biscuits and they also came round with ice to suck.
I got to Picton a little after 9pm, a short walk to the hostel and bed.
