This morning we have heavy rain, strong winds and choppy seas. I was meant to go out on a 4 hour cruise to the hole in the Rock and to possibly see dolphins. But before we set off the boat captain said we may not get out to the rock as it's so rough. So I decided to abandon ship and get my money back. I didn't want to spend 4 hours feeling sea sick and not see anything.
Instead I took a 10 minute ferry ride over to Russell intending to have a walk around the coastline. But it was so wet I ended up most of the time sheltering from the rain in a cafe. By midday I'd had enough, so I got the ferry back to Paihai and went back to the hostel. A good excuse to spend the afternoon watching a video on VHS.
