We woke this morning to magnificent views of the mountains that had been covered in cloud the day before. The dun was shining. We started the day with breakfast at our guest house. It was a good way to start the day. Our plan for today was to hike for about 2 1/5 hours to a place called Birg which is about 2/3 of the way up a mountain called Schilthorn. From there we would catch the cable car to the top of Schilthorn. I hired a pair of hiking poles before setting off as it was going to be snowy and icy. The hike was strenuous but very enjoyable especially when we reached the snow line. It was very warm and I hiked in just a tshirt with no jumper. As we closed in on Birg we decided to hike the rest of the way to Schilthorn. It was tricky in places but we all made it. Schilthorn is famous as being the location for filming 007 movie On Her X Majesty's Service. There is a James Bond theme floor up the top and a movie theatre which shows the parts filmed up there. We caught the cable car back down the mountain. We had dinner at a local hotel.
