We had heard about a valley where there were waterfalls inside a mountain accessible by a path and a train which would be on the way from Murren to Bern. As we had until 1pm to get to Bern we decided to break our journey and see the waterfalls. The main station was at Luterburren and the falls were about an hours walk away at Trümmelbach. On the way we saw BASE jumpers who were jumping off the mountain along our walk. There were 12 waterfalls in total in the mountain and it was well worth the trip. We had a couple of stops on the train journey to Frankfurt so it was about 9pm when we finally arrived at our hotel which was about 20 metres from the train station. We had dinner at an Indian restaurant close to the hotel and then went for a walk in the nearby streets. We went down into the subway where there are a lot of shops and walked back to the hotel that way. It wasn't a good choice. The subway stank and there were police patrolling with a muzzled dog. The dog wasn't happy with one of the people in the subway while we were there. I had my purse in my hand and was followed by a man who was very possibly hoping to relieve me of it. Thankfully Dianne spotted him and I was able to hide my purse and we all stayed close until we were safely back in the hotel. My first impressions of Frankfurt were not favorable. I wouldn't want to be out alone here.
