It was a beautiful and sunny morning when we got up and hopped in to our little Hyundia Getz and headed over to the town of Naousa on the north central shore of Paros in Plastira Bay. Naousa is a charming little sea side town full of nice places to eat and beautiful white buildings and alleyways with all the shopping you could desire. We spent the later part of the morning walking through the streets before heading to a winery called Moraitis where we got to tour and walk through the cellars before tasting some delicious red wines! Needless to say we bought 2 bottles (to bring home and share of corse!) and only for the total price of 19 euro! We then headed out of town to the north-eastern coast to explore the beaches and coastlines near Agia Maria. We cruised through some narrow gravel roads and had some nice views across the sea of Naxos (the previous island we were on). It was a rather windy day again and we didnt find any good strecthes of beach with decent shelter so we went back through Naousa and went to the western side of Plastira bay which forms a nice little peninsula that stretches from west to east which would offer some nice shelter. We settled on a little stretch of beach amongst the rising schist rocks behind us and soaked in some sun (I went swimming, it was to cold for Sarah haha) while looking at Naousa town which was straight across the bay from us now. After a good time spent on the beach, we headed back towards Naousa town and deecided there was still a lot of fuel to burn in the car so we decided to do a trip down the east coast of Paros. We first drove south-east to the little town of Ambelas which was quiet and didnt have much going on. So we got back on the main road and continued south down to Molos and then all the way to a place called Nea Hrysi Atki (about 25km south of Naousa) which had a nice stretch of beach and we enjoyed another dip and took in the last of the afternoon heat.
We headed back up to Naousa and enjoyed a little walk around town before settling on a Italien place called La Piatsa for dinner, and oh boy were we glad we did! We had a delicious dinner and would definitely be in the top 3-4 of the trip so far, so full haha!
After another short walk around after dinner, we hopped in the car and drove back to Parikia and the hotel to finish up the day. Very happy with our brief stay in Paros and tomorrow we take the boat to Mykonos, our last island stop of the trip!
