Today's blog will be short and sweet. This morning our host from Aloe Apartments kindly dropped us off at the Rethymno bus station and wished us well on our adventure.
After about an hour and a half long bus ride we hit the coast to see the metropolitan (in Greek Island terms) of Iraklio... A sea of Gypsum washed houses as far as we could see. Once we arrived we made our first stop at the Iraklio Archealogical Muesum, all I can say is eat your heart out 6th form (Grade 11) Classical Studies. The Muesum contained pottery, bronze weapons and pots, and increadible Minoan art works; all dated between 4500 BC to 4th Century AD. Wow!
We carried onto to explore the markets and wondered though the streets and found ourselves sitting in a shaded spot with cheap wine, beer, and bread. Little to say this is where we ended our first day in Iraklio.
