We left London this morning and I was pissed that the sun was shining after 7 days of gloom and fog with drizzle. Not happy Jan. We were in a bit of a panic having booked our bus tickets last night and finding out we needed to print them to get on the bus, so we got up at sparrows fart to get to the coach station early to get it sorted, upon arriving we couldn't find the carrier so after a rushed phone call we found out that the email ticket would be acceptable, even though everywhere on the website said this was NOT acceptable, anyways we got on the bus and were on our way. It wasn't a bad trip considering it was 9 hours, it went relatively quickly, however the tunnel trip was a spin out when the bus entered a train, felt like I was in the twilight zone. I do hate bus travel though and will be glad to be back on the trains now we are back in Europe. We finally got to Paris and its beautiful country side welcomed us with freezing cold winds and clear sky's. we sought some direction and found our way to our hotel, after a near miss on the train that gives you 30 seconds to get on it and doesn't announce the stations, not very modern and feels a bit dodgy. On the way to the hotel we were approached by an Italian tourist that warned us to take care in Paris as there are many thieves and she just had her iPad stolen on the metro train :( nice of her to warn us. We will be very diligent. We arrived at our hotel after getting a little lost, its a cheap hotel at €53 a night but it has a new bathroom including a bath (excited about that) and a larger room than in London so we won't be climbing over each other. Went out for diner to a Chinese restaurant next door but couldn't read the menu hahaha so we had to leave and go to the the Irish pub on the corner, had the worst burger I've ever eaten yuck, great mango cocktail though mmm. Time for bed and a big first day Tomorrow, might even see the Eiffel Tower, bit excited.

Melanie You guys are really disappointing me with your food choices! So much non-local grub! We have Pizza Hut, Chinese and burgers over here!
our-euro-adventure I know but when your tired and don't want to spend a fortune it's the only option you have which is unfortunate
