After a day of rest yesterday we get up early this morning to head to the palais. When we get outside the hotel we realise its a fairly cold and miserable day, which had me bummed because I was hoping for blue skies to wander the palace gardens but that was not going to happen with the way the weather was looking. The crowds inside the palace were ridiculous, every man and his dog was there. I could go on and on about the rudeness of the French but I've said enough already about how
Much they annoy me and today was no exception. The palace was beautiful but I'm sure it would be enjoyed more if the crowds weren't so bad. Once we got outside the palace it had started to rain and get windy, we were chilled to the bone so I decided to hire a golf cart to get us around the grounds as quickly and as dry as possible, best €37 I've spent this far. We got to see everything in a short amount of time without getting drenched which everyone else was soaked through, the gardens would be magnificent in the spring time/summer and I'm sad the weather was so bad but you can't have sunshine and warm days everyday :). We headed back to hotel with my feet frozen solid and wet (new shoes are a must) we booked our tickets for the train to Marseilles tomorrow and got to post the souvenirs home, well most of them, another package will be required before the end of the trip. We spent the night in bed with a pizza and catching up on our tv shows whilst we had awesome wifi, so toasty in bed with the rain and wind outside. Hopefully the weather clears up for our trip up the French coast.
