Day 204, 24 January 2013, Bansko, Bulgaria. Back on the slopes in Bansko. This happy snap is from yesterday when we bought ski passes for the next couple of days. Just so nice to get a photo together, it gets pride of place on the on-line mantlepiece. Had a great day up the mountain - we were just two tiny skiers in the world's biggest snow globe. There was a heap of new snow before we took 5 days off for our assorted ailments - but most got rained off. Therefore today was like skiing on an ice-rink sprinkled with icing sugar. But it snowed like it meant it all day, so we should have more joy tomorrow. It's even snowing downtown tonight - our street is covered in snow, the rooftops are iced like gingerbread houses and the snow plough just trundled down the street with yellow lights blinking. If it can stay cold overnight, tomorrow's skiing holds great promise. Apparently, this time last year, it was -28 degrees Celsius. Makes our current weather look tropical!
