Day 355, 24 June 2013, Buenos Aires. Lazy Day... We have found BA to be an eminently strollable city - It is flat. Dead flat. Pavements with massive holes provide the only significant topographical features. Which makes it perfect for taking a walk even when you plan on doing nothing. We visited the Buquebus agency to arrange ferry tickets to Uruguay for the 26th. Had rather successfully done the entire booking online (in Spanish) only to have the site have a hissy fit at using an Australian credit card. One of the few issues we've had worldwide. (More often than not it's been the overly zealous types at American Express stopping our card after a marathon travel booking session!) In any event, tickets secured, we whiled away the afternoon before strolling across town, seeing El Obelisco by sunset and enjoying empanadas and a bottle of house red at Guerrin on Avenida Corrientes. We strolled home via "Jewellery Street". Not sure of it's real name, but luckily the shops had just closed by 8.30 pm - so the credit cards were safe. We have been considering buying James a shearling coat since Argentina eats a lot of beef and leather is the thing to buy in this country (that and he's green with envy when I'm strolling around in my fur snug as a bug). We've researched the offerings in the city and are considering an excursion to "Leather Street" tomorrow for some exhaustive comparison shopping. We know it exists, our friends told us so. We just have no idea of the street name or the location. That's how you keep a trip interesting!
